Stain-Proof is a penetrating, invisible and breathable sealer that protects exposed porous tile, natural stone, pavers, concrete and grout from damage caused by water, salts and oil-based stains. Treated indoor and outdoors surfaces become easier to clean, maintain, and keep looking good for longer. Stain-Proof provides lasting protection for marble, granite, travertine, slate, concrete, terracotta tile, cast stone, pavers, sandstone, limestone, brick, grout and more.
Stain-Proof is suitable for a wide variety of applications, including countertops, building facades, floors, walls, swimming pool surrounds, patios, garages, kitchens and bathrooms.

- ALWAYS TEST PRODUCT ON A SMALL AREA FIRST and allow a 24-hour cure time to determine the ease of application and desired results.
- Ensure surfaces to be treated are dry, clean and free of residues. Apply when surface temperature is between 40° and 95° F.
- Product is to be applied without thinning.
- Generously saturate the surface with product using a low-pressure hand spray, a clean brush, or similar. Surface should have a mirror-like "wet" look for at least 3 seconds. Avoid contact with surrounding areas.
- After 10 minutes or longer, repeat Step 4. Total application rate is approximately 60 to 250 sq.ft. per quart, depending on surface absorption.
- Allow 10 minutes or longer for product to penetrate surface then polish surface with a clean white dry cloth to remove excess product.
-
Rewet surface with Stain-Proof if necessary to ease polishing.
Special Notes and Helpful Hints
- After at least six hours, verify the effectiveness of the seal by leaving water on the surface for several hours. If the stone darkens due to water absorption, wait several days and apply another coat of Stain-Proof or consult your retailer.
- Statuary grade (dense) marble and very dense (dark) granite may require one coat of Stain-Proof followed a day later by one coat of Marble and Porcelain Sealer. The Marble and Porcelain Sealer has a molecule that is even tinier so it can penetrate even the densest stone.
- Very porous materials such as sandstone benefit from a longer curing time between coats. Occasionally, they may require a third coat since Stain-Proof can penetrate so deeply.
- The sealer is "migratory" and will continue to penetrate the stone for a period of one month though the surface is dry. Most stones will be sealed to a depth of about ¼".
-
Avoid moisture contact with the surface for 6 hours after application.
- Keep your sealed stone clean. Use any cleaner. We recommend S-P Cleaner for everyday cleaning. However, any cleaner can be used without hurting the seal including bleach. Caution should be used with acidic liquids (including vinegar) on marble, limestone, concrete, or other calcereous surfaces since Stain-Proof will not prevent surface etching.
- Stain-Proof will not protect against surface wear or scratching of the surface. However, even the scratched or worn area will remain sealed against water and oil.
- On rare occasions, Stain-Proof may slightly lighten or darken some surfaces. Test first.
- Allowing Stain-Proof to dry on the surface of the stone may leave a temporary slight haze or sheen. If polishing with a clean white towel does not remove it, reapply a light coat of Stain-Proof and wipe off while moist.
- Stain-Proof can be applied through many other sealers. Apply a small amount. If the stone darkens, it is penetrating and is sealing.

Roughly 1000 additional homes and businesses are using Stain-Proof every week. This has been steadily increasing since Stain-Proof's introduction in 1991. Most reference sites are in Australia thus far. However, we are adding to our list of references in the United States. Many sites have sealed over 10,000 square feet in high-traffic, outdoor public areas. Contact us directly for reference sites.
Independent testing organizations have confirmed Stain-Proof's effectiveness for water repellance, salt resistance, and lack of change of frictional properties. Contact us for these independent reports.
